First month with the new “camera”

Yes, you are reading this right—a new camera. I decided to purchase a new camera, not an analogue but a digital one. 🙂 What’s more, it is not a camera you’re thinking of. It is something completely different, and so far I am enjoying it a lot. What is it, you ask? It is a 360-degree camera called Insta360 X5. With the upcoming big trip in the summer, I decided to go for it now and not wait, just to have some time to learn the ins and outs and familiarise myself with the process of working with 360 lenses

Well, I have been using this little marvell for a month, and I can say it is really fun to play with. It’s easy to operate and nice to work with. I am not going to give you any technical details; you can easily get all that on the Insta360 website.

I bought an essential bundle, and I can say it contains all I need. Saying that, I also purchased a special street photography handle for it, which transforms this little gem into a nice, small panoramic street photography camera. I always had a thing for panoramas. I had a lot of fun with it… In general, you are shooting with a camera on a stick. Great if you want to embarrass your teenage kids :-). But with a handle, you can shoot from your hip and don’t worry about settings. Also, the camera made me start looking around a bit differently, which is quite refreshing.

So how was the first month with the new “camera”?

Very refreshing and lots of fun. There is a studio software provided by Insta360 and it is very easy to make a video. I have a lot to learn still, but so far I am enjoying the journey. I did have a play around with the software and creted short videos from our trips . Soon ,I hope I will be able to make some videos and publish it here as well. Honestly at this point I do not know how to publish 360 picture here on my website. There must be. If you are reading this and you know, please get in touch and let me know I will really appreciate the help.

Looks like X5 will be my companion as of now, I will try to do some behind the scene shots/videos from my trips. Keep your eyes peeled for next updates !
