Happy birthday to me !
It’s official , this photographer is officially old now. I reached a milestone, and I am 50 now. :-). Nothing wrong with that. right? 50 is apparently new 30.
It made me wonder and look back. I have been photographing for at least 35 years (on and off). It seems like a long time ago when I started with Russian 35 mm camera. I was 15 and went through it all. I had a darkroom which my dad built for me, learned how to process film and make prints. Still shooting during my university years and got a brand new Nikon F60 for our wedding. Then came the digital age, and I purchased a Nikon D700, which was ( and still is ) an amazing camera.
Finally, I have seen the light and returned back to film. In 2016, the Hasselblad 503CW arrived, and I completely switched back to film. Since then, I shoot landscapes exclusively on film. Another chapter started in July 20219. I have made a jump into large format. Although the MPP VII was an amazing camera, and I have enjoyed shooting it a lot, there was always one camera I wanted. Like a Blue whale. It was an Ebony 45. I wanted it since I knew that my favourite landscape photographer, Joe Cornish, used it.
Now I hold Ebony 45S in my hands as a gift for my birthday. It is unbelievably beautiful….

Here it’s to the next 50 years!
