Well, it’s such a difference when the sun is out and the forecast is for a great day out. I did not hesitate and went for another walk. This time, with my usual partner in crime, Chris, and my beautiful wife, Mirka. The main goal was to stand on Ringing Roger, a hill neighbouring the famous Kinder Scout plateau. We decided to start in Edale and walked up Grindsbrook clough then walked the ridge to the famous Roger. Not sure why, but in my head this name sounded like James Bond voice saying: Name’s Roger – Ringing Roger.
I decided to take my trusted Nikon FM2 with me, loaded with colour Kodak Ultramax 400 film. And again I paired it with my “new” 24-120 mm lens. In all honesty, this was not a photographic trip. It was more like an exploration mission. I wanted to see if Ringing Roger is a place where I should take my large format with me.
The Walk
This walk is generally not hard. It is suitable for all who can do a little bit of scrambling. It was a nice walk, I have to say. The weather was gorgeous, so lots of people had the same idea as we did… Once you reach the top of the plateau, it’s nice and flat. It was great to walk with no wind and the sun in our faces.

If you want to see some analogue shots, please stay tuned. I did not manage to finish the roll. But as soon as I am done with the film I will show you some of them. Not much to add about the walk. We reached Ringing Roger, and I was really surprised. The views from there are quite amazing. The rock formations are worth the return trip with my large format. I can imagine shots to be made here with a dramatic sky. I think I will be back.
