I love walking , hate running. I love walking. Because of the work , life and other things which are in the way of living I was not able to go out for walk as often as I wanted. Same applies for my photo trips. 2025 was one of the driest years in my memory . I usually have 8-10 usable good shots per year but season 2005 yield one maybe two shots which are presentable…. but back to the
Walk
For last walk of 2025, we left the house at around 6:50 am in the dark to make sure we had boots on the ground by around 8 am. I decided to take my trusted Fuji Xpro1 with me. Together with my wife and son, we decided to do a round walk around Higger Tor, Ower Owler Tor, Padley Gorge, and Longshaw Estate (for coffee), then Burbage Edge, and back to the car park below Higger Tor. All in all, approximately 11 km of nice walking with the views.
First shock of the day came when we reached the parking spot . So many people had a same idea as me , it seemed. Morning was pretty chilli when we put our boots on. It was nice and calm,right after the sunrise. With the sun still very low we had some nice views from the top of the Higger Tor.
Best part of the trip was the stop in the Longshaw estate. this place is owned by National trust and I can confirm caffee and scones are excellent here . Definitely recomended. After the refreshment we crossed the main road and headed up to the Burbage moor and walked along the Burbage edge. It was excellent.
What a place for last walk of the 2025!
Although not purely photographic trip, this was brilliant walk and we enjoyed the day a lot. If you need recommendation for great walk, try this one. You will not be disappointed.
