Hard to believe that it’s already February, right? I haven’t been out with my camera since December 2025. for last couple of months I was pretty much contained to my darkroom. I cannot tell how much am itching to take my large format out soon. As soon as the weather improves. In the UK, it has rained every day since the beginning of the year. I am waiting for when I will actually see the sun again.
The film is always loaded into one of my 35 mm cameras. I carry the camera with me every time I go out of the house. This time I loaded Kosmo Foto Agent Shadow 400. Days are still short. Even during the day, there is not that much light. ISO 400 seemed like the right choice.
It took me nearly two months to finish all 36 exposures. Thanks to Nottingham Light Night, I finally used it all. I know it was a challenge to photograph the city in the dark. Still, I had a very fast lens on. I gave it a go anyway.
Processing the film
To make the story short, I processed the film in Rodinal. Based on a recipe from the Massive dev chart, I used 1:50 in 20 degrees for 17, 5 minutes.
Well, the film came out much worse than I expected. What threw me off was that it looks like the whole roll was fogged. The base looks very gray and not clear as it should be. I never have had an issue with this camera, so maybe the problem was the exhausted fixer. In any case, I will prepare a new batch for the next one.
Next logical step was to scan it all and see if I can salvage some shots. I think after the scanning I can say there are a few which are usable. Have a look :

What do you think? I am still not convinced until I try and wet print a few shots from this film. But this is what I like about going full analogue. Every single film is slightly different, and that’s what keeps me on my toes.
How about you guys? What is it that keeps you going analogue? Let me know below.
